Gummy Smile Surgery
If your gummy smile is caused by your gums covering your upper teeth, you won’t need to undergo gummy smile surgery to correct it.

If your gummy smile is caused by your upper jaw’s position like how mine was before I had my double jaw surgery, then you need to have upper jaw surgery to correct your gummy smile.
My gummy smile was considered to be mild and it was corrected as a side benefit of correcting my underbite that required the repositioning of my upper jaw and lower jaw.
In the video above, the upper jaw was moved upwards and the gummy smile was corrected because less of the gums were visible with the new upper jaw position.
If you do not have other jaw deformities, fixing your gummy smile with surgery will be considered a cosmetic surgery because your jaws are functioning properly.
If gummy smile surgery is too scary for you, consider alternative solutions like the fattening of the upper lips so that they cover more of the upper gum.
